About Us

Riding for the Disabled (RDA) Alice Springs is a busy, family-orientated centre providing horse riding lessons and horse husbandry to riders of varying abilities.

RDA Alice Springs aims to promote social and emotional wellbeing through strengthening pathways to care and supporting people at risk. Our programs offer a unique approach to helping people with mental, physical, emotional, social and learning disabilities or disadvantages.

Thoroughbreds are part of this important program.

Activities for Kids

Both horses are former Territory racehorses who have transitioned into new careers supporting the community, showcasing the versatility and temperament of the Thoroughbred breed beyond the racetrack.

Educational materials, including the children’s booklet Hold the Reins and accompanying educational displays, will be available for families and visitors wishing to learn more about the journey of Thoroughbreds after racing.
