Rich Hill has become renowned for raising and selling a quality product that is sound enough to compete at the highest level on Australasia’s leading racetracks. The farm has sold horses in Australia for up to $1.3 million AUD (Inglis Sydney Easter Yearling Sale) and up to $600,000 in New Zealand (NZB Premier Yearling Sale). Its graduates include such Group One winners as Prince of Penzance, Xtravagant, (King) Mufhasa, Ferlax, Zarita, Recurring, Penny Gem and Pentane etc.

Rich Hill provides a complete bloodstock package for its clients. This service includes foaling, weaning, and the raising of young stock by a qualified and dedicated staff. Its picturesque location and superb facilities provides a safe and natural environment for your thoroughbreds. Rich Hill has a well equipped and managed foaling unit and the resources to prepare 50 yearlings.

What to expect

Rich Hill Stud invites you behind the gates to see where champions are born. Join us for a unique opportunity to view foals at foot, broodmares, and yearlings being prepared for the sales.

After the tour, stay on for an interactive Q&A session with studmaster John Thompson, who will share insights on breeding, sales preparation, and life at one of New Zealand’s leading studs.
