As part of National Thoroughbred Week, Caulfield's Official Trials will be open for public viewing.
Trials and jumpouts are 'practice races', simulating the same conditions a horse will experience on a raceday, where trainers can review their horse's fitness levels, movements and actions and jockeys can become better acquainted with horses they are likely to partner throughout their careers. Official Trial results are recorded on a horse's form guide.
Watch the horses in action during their morning routines and catch a glimpse of some of Melbourne's favourite trainers and jockeys.
Catering provided.
Thanks to Equine Pathways Australia, multiple Group-winning racehorse JUNGLE EDGE will also be there for you to meet and greet!
150 years ago, the Victorian Amateur Turf Club began a story that continues today as the MRC, managing Caulfield, Mornington and Sandown racecourses.
The MRC Foundation contributes in excess of $6 million dollars to support a diverse range of programs and initiatives within racing, equine welfare and the community.
