What to expect

Racing SA welcomes you to a tour of the Morphettville Racecourse on SA Finals Day, highlighted by the star of our sport, the Thoroughbred.

The tour will begin by the Mounting Yard at 11am. (there will be signage and directions available on the day) Heading straight to the behind the scenes raceday action, guests will have the opportunity to meet and pat our Clerk of the Course horses, all of whom are retired racehorses, and enjoy conversations with a range of industry professionals including jockeys, trainers, and stable staff.

The tour also includes a behind-the-scenes look at veterinary facilities, discussions with Raceday Vets, the chance to watch racehorses arriving on course, and an insight into the important work of Raceday Stewards and the Compliance and Integrity team.

To finish, participants can test their skills on the Racing SA portable Equicizer — and experience firsthand what it takes to be a jockey.

After the tour, continue to enjoy a day at the races and observe the participants and horses in action.
