Tour a racing stable and find out about the daily routine and care that goes into having a racehorse in peak condition.
View horses working on the track, check out the 2025 season's foals and meet the NZ Equine Academy horses.
You can also talk to vets, view one of the state of the art Horse Ambulances and chat to the farmers about track maintenance and looking after the pasture and cattle.
PARTICIPATING TRAINERS & GROUPS:
Byerley Park is a public training facility located in rural South Auckland. It is home to eight trainers, with around 130 horses worked on the track each morning.
The breeding operation "Chesterfields" is located across the road from the training track and is where broodmares, foals, yearlings and spellers are cared for in an idyllic setting.
Byerley Park is also home to the NZ Equine Academy, providing education and career pathways for those wanting to secure a successful future in the thoroughbred industry.
Meet the horses, touch the grooming and riding gear, have a go on the spring horse and racehorse game, colouring in and design your own brand. Plus take part in our Kahoot to test your knowledge!
Come up the main driveway and park on the left in the car park.
